Who does not like to travel and explore various destinations? But since 2020, the pandemic has made us couch potatoes. The pandemic has changed the way of our living even our travelling curiosity is also hammered. Though the vaccine has opened the door for travelling, precautions are still mandatory to safeguard ourselves from the possible 3rd wave of COVID -19. With some precautionary tips, one can pack the bag with zeal and zest to explore and experience the new destinations in Diwali vacation.

 Pre-planning – If you choose to travel, it is very important that you check any travel restrictions, stay-at-home orders, quarantining, vaccination, testing requirements in areas and all places you are planning to visit. In India, a possible 3rd wave is not yet attacked, but many countries have experienced even 4th & 5th waves. So it is important that even in India we should check all safety measures and plan accordingly.

Beside this also check the weather condition, hotel booking availability, nearby destinations, local guide availability, expenses etc. to avoid hurdles during travelling.

Make a list of essentials – Before heading to catch up on your flight or training, it is important to pack your essentials well in advance. Being well-organised will help you to avoid last minute hassles, and you will not miss any important item. Keep your sanitizer, hand soap, reusable face masks, disinfectant wipes, and tissues handy. Beside this keep your toiletries and other items in a separate pouch.

If you are under some medication such as diabetic, BP, or thyroids etc. make sure you carry your medicine for that. Besides this, keep a first aid kit for any emergency.

Be a responsible traveller – Keep in mind that every action we take has a reaction on our surroundings and people around us. While travelling with family and friends during festivities, it is important to travel responsibly and with awareness. After a pandemic, vaccination is important hence, before planning holiday, schedule a vaccination slot and get vaccinated done. If that is not possible then make sure your RT PCR Testing is negative, using mask, sanitizer and maintaining social distance & hygiene make us a responsible traveller.

Private homes are in demand – Pandemic taught us to be more isolated. Contactless and safer place to stay is in demand now-a-days. Diwali is a festival of celebrating togetherness but due to pandemic people have changed the way they celebrate. People Choose private vacation homes that are located in quieter hooks and have better air quality. So, according to your budget and requirement beforehand to avoid last minute rush.

·         Try to keep a physical distance from people in public.

·         Wear masks when in public places.

·         Wash your hands frequently.

·         Avoid touching your face.

·         Regularly clean and disinfect the frequently touched surfaces.

·         If you decide to eat outside, consider the safest dining options.

·         Check your rooms are sanitized properly.

·         Plan to bring your own food and drinks where possible.
